I purchased this item for my 8 year old granddaughter. She absolutely loves it! She is now taking guitar lessons. This is a very durable instrument. Great value for the money.
Not only for kids and surprisingly good quality!

I purchased this Gold Box special for myself, but my 16 year old son saw it when it arrived and has made it his own. It's a little small for him as he's a big guy, but since he also plays ukes, he doesn't mind too much. He likes the art concept and would love it if this guitar was available in a full size...I would, too, since I then might get this one back for myself! We were surprised at the (good)sound quality and didn't expect this to be as nice as it is. Re shipping, the outer packaging was very poor and torn open, but the guitar, bag (black) and drawing markers were intact. The guitar was backordered, but arrived well before the anticipated date.
Great guitar!

I purchased this guitar for my 9yr old daughter for Christmas. The reviews are correct that this is not a toy. This IS a very nice solid guitar. My daughter loves the customizing ability of this guitar and I believe that feature will help this guitar grow with her. Yes, this was one of the selling points for me, in addition to the brand quality. It's not too cutesy and little girly, and this would be good for both a boy and a girl!!! Also, there are also a lot of different wet-erase color markers out there, and I plan on getting her a variety of colors. I've even found 4 different brands with 7 fluorescent colors that included orange, red, and purple fluorescent colors (which aren't in the Expo Brightstick pack). You can find these other brands only at the DinoDirect website and search for "Fluorescent Markers 7 Pack" (no white in these different packs - but, oh well!).
Overall, with the brand quality which does show in this guitar, and the fun aspect of customization, I give this guitar 5 stars!
(One final note though, this guitar does not have anywhere to hook a guitar strap, though it is extremely lightweight at 2.5 lbs (you can find The Luna Weights & Measures chart at the LunaGuitars website, click on the "Acoustic" tab to the left and on the next page you'll find a button on the top of the page titled "Click here to compare weights and measures of Luna models").

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, since she always want to play one of my guitars. This is a solid little giutar. It's not a toy. I believe Luna Guitars are produced by Dean Guitars - in the same factory. I won't bore you with techie guitar details - all you need to know for this price is that it stays in tune, feels solid, sounds good and has real playability - even for an adult. And you can draw on it to boot!

Our 9 yr old daughter recieved this for Christmas. She LOVED it! It was just the right size and weight for her. The only complaint is that it didn't have strap pegs or something to hold the shoulder straps. It wasn't mention but I assumed it had pegs. I was wrong. We are happy with the sound and quality. Also, our daughter loved the fact that she can make it her own by drawing on it. She can wipe it off and re-draw. :)
